Amanda Natraj: Mentor to Topless Dancers - Overview

 | Amanda Natraj is a mentor, life coach and big sister for topless dancers and strippers. She danced in the top clubs on the east coast for a total of eight years over a fifteen year period. In between she engaged in personal and spiritual growth activities. She grew up in a theatrical family and learned many aspects of that craft, including stage presence and makeup. At Johnny Casablanca modeling agency, in Denver CO, she learned runway, printwork and makeup. She achieved a cosmetology liscence in FL in 1984 and worked briefly in Winter Park before begining her dancing career at the original Doll House in Orlando. She has studied Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Middle Eastern and Indian Folkloric dance. She has studied many healing arts and she has a long standing commitment to personal and spiritual growth. |

1986-1987 Djayed at Circus Circus Altamonte FL a month before initiated as a stripper with the name "Deva." Worked in Orlando at the Booby Trap, The Tigress, and The Cover Girl as "Rachel," before being hired at Thee Doll House Corporations Baby Dolls, then moved on to the Original Dollhouse. There established the name and character of "Amanda" a derivation of "Ananda", Sanskrit for bliss. 1987-1989 Thee Doll House in Orlando and Fort Lauderdale in FL and Myrtle Beach South Carolina. 1988 Won an amateur contest at the Crazy Horse in Myrtle Beach. 1988-1995 Moved into Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, Lenox Massassachsettes. 1988 Danced in The Dance of Upagupatta the lead role of Lord Yama, Death. and then played the Virgin Mary in a Christmas Creshe. 1992 Danced a fall birthday celebration in Indian Folkloric style and sang as part of a choir in another birthday celebration. 1995-1996 Danced at Kahoots and Elans in Ct, and Stringfellows Tens in NYC. 1997-1998 Doll House in Raleigh, NC 1998-2002 Pure Gold in Raleigh and Southern Pines, NC 2001 Won a contest for a "Star Wars: Princess Leia" feature. |
